march 25

This morning after worship I got recruited again to go with the students doing the week of prayer. But I enjoy going with them so it’s not a problem. Sharon did the worship talk. It was about how we need to be connected with God and how devotions are a big part of that. After she finished Michael, David and Becky did a special music. While they were playing we realized we had more time that we needed to fill. So when they set down I got up and told so miracle stories while Sharon told the others what we were doing. So by the time I was done they had something that they were able to share. And it filled up the time perfect.
For lunch they invited us to go to the mission and eat with all of the people that work there. It was really fun. They food was great, like always. And we got to try frozen Durian. I didn’t think it tasted so bad, but some of the students thought otherwise.
This evening I want with Dave and Melissa. To get to their church we had to drive up into the mountains past all of the other churches on that road. But right at the base of the mountain there was a large accident. The breaks went out on a semi coming down the hill and he flipped at the bottom. He was carrying bags of rice and it was all over. Only one other motorcycle was involved.
After pulling off the main road we bumped around on a very rough road for a while and then came to a very beautiful church. It is located kind of on top of a hill so you can see down into the valleys on both sides. It is also the only church I have seen with a steeple. This church was the mother church for all the other ones in the area.
Some little kids did a very nice special music. Then this old guy played this awesome instrument. It is a guard with bamboo sticking out the top. It sounds almost like bagpipes. It was really neat.
At the end of the meeting they had a prayer for all of the baptism candidates. There are about 13 of them. Praise God!!
