This morning I went with the quartet to do the week of prayer at the mission school. They did one song together then Benji spoke. After words we went across the swinging bridge to the market. Spent about an hour looking around until Scott came and picked us up. Saw the largest Jack fruit I have seen yet. It was about two feet long. But most of what was being sold was just every-day type stuff. Like a mobile Wal-Mart.
Took another relaxing afternoon. I haven’t been able to get to sleep early enough each night so I have to take it easy in the afternoon to make up for it. I was going to go with Becky and Jonathan tonight but I got distracted and they left without me. So I went with David and Raquel instead. Their site is the farthest up the river past the mission. They are just now paving the road through the village so it is just dirt right now. And it raid two nights ago so it is really slick. Last evening they got stuck and seven guys had to pull them out. But the pastor’s four wheel drive was working this time so we just slid around a lot but didn’t get stuck. We had an amazing meal of spring rolls and noodles. David ate most of the spring rolls. He really liked them.
Every time a staff had visited their site something has always gone wrong, so we were wondering what was going to happen this time. But praise God everything went fine. David talked on why there are so many denominations. I really appreciated it. He puts lots of expression into his speaking.
Afterward we were wondering if we were going to be able to make it up the hill out of the parking lot. It was close, but we made it. We almost hit some water buffalo on the way. They were standing around a corner. You never know what you might see around here.
