March 17

This morning most of the students went with church members to see different tourist sites around the area. The people here a super friendly and very hospitable. While they were all out some of us went to another market close by. It was smaller than the one we went to on Sunday. But it was nice to be able to get outside and walk around and see what Sabah is really like. The market offers just about everything one would need. Fresh veggies, fruit, clothes, hard ware store, and any kind of meat you can think of. And they pack it up every day. It is like a portable mall. Quite amazing.

This afternoon Scott took a van full to the beach. The other beaches they had gone to earlier had jelly fish, and some of the students got stung. But this one was jelly free. But there were sand crabs. I dug one up. It was great watching him run around. super cute. But I didn’t take any pictures of the beach, because.... it’s a beach :)

This evening I went with Brad and Joey to their church. It’s on the same road as Jeremy’s, just further up. We ate supper at a restaurant that is owned by an Adventist lady. Brad preached about how God’s law is still binding. And 7 people signed up for baptism from last night’s appeal. Very exciting!

And to finish off the day some youth were practicing a dragon dance down at the temple. we only got the last 10 minutes, but it was pretty neat.
