Sunday, Rec day!

we got to sleep in again this morning. it felt very nice.
after worship and breakfast we all split up to do our different activities. one van went for a hike, and the rest either went shopping or to the beach. because of the way things worked out with the drivers i was part of a group that didn't leave until 11! very sad. we we got to the beach the life gourd suggested we try another beach. but when we got there we decided that one wasn't going to work either. so we went to a third beach. and boy was it a good beach. we didn't get there until 12, but it was worth it. the waves were awesome! i had never been body boarding before so it was a learning experience. i got rolled a couple of times but soon learned how to avoid getting caught. after some practice i felt pretty confidant out there. as the day went on the waves got bigger. it is very scary to look straight up at a 10 ft + wave and see it crash down on you :)
we had a grand time for about 4 hours. i am very tired now. some of the kids said they saw some sea turtles, but i kept missing them :( very disappointing.
we have to go to the north shore in the morning so we have to get up super early. we have to leave by 7:30 am. should be exciting.
