today we had to get up early so that we could film at the top of the mountain where we tried to film the first week but got rained out. the word on the street is that the best time for good weather is before 10 am. we were set up by 9:15am and ready to go. and miracle of miracles it stayed clear all day! one of the wettest places on earth and it was dry all day!!
the view form the top looked out over the ocean 4,000 feet below us! it was spectacular. we were able to film our two longest song (heaven melody and i'll go) before lunch. and one mixed chorus song after. there was one point where it looked like rain was coming but God kept it away. an absolutely wonderful day of filming!
we got all packed up and left by 4pm. three great songs and we still finished at a decent hour. on the way back we dropped off a small group at a beach on the west side to do one more small group song at sunset. should be really pretty.
a very kind family has offered to rent a beach front condo to the student life staff for a few nights so that we could have a little time off. so right now Jordan and i are here relaxing. we took a nice walk on the beach and got a smoothy. it is nice to have a quiet evening.
we are missing one more student for one of the last songs but she doesn't fly in until tomorrow afternoon. so we are going to take a rec day tomorrow and then film the last three songs on Thursday. since we are staying right next to the beach we don't have to meet up with the group until 10:30am!
it is hard to believe we are so close to being done. it has been a very long and busy two and a half weeks. we have seen most of the island in our travels. if i ever come back i will know all the good places. if you ever need a tour guide... just let me know :)
